A drink-driving arrest turned into an animal affair when two of the passengers that an intoxicated motorist was putting in harm’s way was his pet zebra and macaw.
Police made the unusual arrest when a passerby reported seeing a zebra and a macaw sitting in a pick up truck parked outside the Doghouse Bar and Lounge in Ankeny, just outside Des Moines.
Vicious attack on soldier caught on camera.
HELP CATCH THESE ASSHOLES.
Tampa, Florida - The surveillance video captures raw mean. A man walking home after his car breaks down is suddenly set upon by four young men or teens—their fists and feet flying.
“It’s shocking, it’s absolutely shocking,” says Tampa Police Lt. Mary O’Connor. “We definitely need the public’s help in identifying who these vicious individuals are. They kicked him about the face, they punched him numerous times. It was just an absolute vicious attack on him.”
The victim, 24-year-old Johnny Aparicio, was walking home early Sunday morning along Iowa Avenue West. A motion-activated camera on a nearby home caught the attack.
Aparicio is in the Army and stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. He’s only been in Tampa a few weeks.
“He’s young, very nice, pleasant,” says a manager at his apartment complex. Pat Chumley doesn’t know Aparicio well; still the thought of thugs putting him in the hospital to her is sickening.
“When I think about somebody I know that’s been hurt, I just hope whoever did this will be found and they’ll be prosecuted,” said Chumley.
After the men took his wallet and phone, Aparicio managed to make it to a nearby home, where a woman called 911.
And other residents of the Gandy Gardens neighborhood hope this attack isn’t a sign of crime taking root here.
Gary Sutliff says, “I’ve been here 38 years at this place and we’ve never had anything like this happen.”
Police say Aparicio was taken to Tampa General Hospital with severe cuts and bruises to his face, but no broken bones.

Inmates working at a Vermont correctional unit’s print shop managed to sneak a prank image of a pig into a state police crest that is emblazoned on police cars, and 30 cruisers sported the design for the last year, officials said on Thursday.
The official crest depicts a spotted cow against a background of snowy mountains, but the inmates’ version featured one of the cow’s spots shaped like a pig in an apparent reference to the pejorative word for police, state police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro said.
Thats what you get for letting inmates put shit on your patrol cars
Activiests my ass…
When the “protesters” start throwing rocks, bottles and other items designed to hurt, injure or kill they become “Rioters” and deserve to be treated as such. When are these people going to learn what protesting is and stop acting like spoiled little bastards.
Come at me bro! The turd that is the Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer, got in the face of President Obama on the tarmac yesterday. She was upset about something or other and he responded. Whatever your differences with the government this is completely uncalled for. Respect the fucking office. The story is here via Newser.

While violence is undoubtedly a potential consequence of war-related trauma, highly publicized crimes by active duty members and Veterans cast the overwhelming majority of law abiding Vets in a horrifying—and…
In 1932, some 40,000 veterans and citizens descended on Washington DC as members of the so-called ‘Bonus Army.’ Skulls were crushed, bricks were thrown, tear gas flew, bayonets were pointed, and shots fired…at US veterans.
A general named Douglas McArthur and two colonels named Dwight D. Eisenhower and George Patton helped orchestrate the government’s route of the protesters. For years, the government covered up just how many protestors had been killed and injured in the movement.
Why did the Bonus Army assemble on the National Mall? They were impoverished, frustrated with Congress’ lack of action, and demanded jobs. They ultimately failed, but their courage was a big wakeup call for Congress and the White House American citizens and veterans assembling to demand action from their government. It’s a beautiful thing.
Shortly before the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Bonus Bill was signed in Washington authorizing the payment of WWI veterans’ service bonuses. With a new generation coming into service to fight in the Pacific, North Africa, and across Europe, FDR - elected after Herbert Hoover’s poor handling of the Bonus Army route - established the Montgomery GI Bill. Democracy in action.
