I got a text today…

from my Dad. “I’m going to Academy Sports to buy a gun, I want a pocket pistol, what do you recommend?”

sigh…really, you wait until TODAY to do this….Fuck. So I called him

First, Academy will be sold out.Whatever you want, they will be sold out. Dont go.

Second, have you gone to the range I told you to go to and try out all the guns they have? answer…wait of it….”Of course not.” sigh… Fuck.

So I email him a few to look at and tell him to go to a gun shop near his house that I went to while visiting at xmas that is owned by a former cop who is really knowledgeable.

This is what he bought, mainly due to lack of inventory…

Even the gun shops and pawn shops in bumfuck Georgia were mobbed with people looking to buy guns. About the only rifles left were .17 cal and 2-3 .308’s and a bunch of 410 shotguns. And the one gun/pawn shop had a 90-100 day waiting list for AR’s

As far as ammo, ther ewas a shitton of .17 and 12ga shotgun shells, every other cal. only had the expensive stuff left, and even that was about gone.

Watch, all this buying and there wont be a ban, or if one is passed it will be a total joke.

Just back from the range, Smith & Wesson was there doing a demo of the M&P line. I was able to shoot…

Bodyguard- Nice little gun, has a hell of a snap back. Not for me.

M&P 9- Solid medium size gun, felt good in my hand, recoil was pretty well balanced. I still prefer my SIG SP2022.

M&P Shield- Compact, thin, with well managed recoil. grip is a bit short but the 8 round mag adds just the right amount of length. I am considering picking one up at the next gun show.
